Hey, guys. It's come to our attention that for some reason, you want to know more about us. So here's a nice little page of questions I've compiled, so that you can feel free to get answers at your leisure, and we don't have to answer ever again. J These are randomly compiled. If you have one you want answered, feel free to email us. Now, on with the show.

1. Who are you, and what makes you the gods of fanfic?

We’re Kara and Emily (I’m Kara, she’s Emily *g*), and we’re two insane (yet not inane) Roswell fanatics and fanfic writers who decided, one December night, to give the best (our version) Roswell fanfic a home on the net. We were one of the first ‘fanfic only’ archives. We actually were the first listed on the Crashdown links section. J

2. Why isn’t my fic up yet? It’s been (a day, a week, a month, since last December)...

Unfortunately, Em and I have lives (which really sucks, because I’d love to just write Roswell fic all day long J), and since we have lives and jobs and schools and families and pets and drooly love slaves (sorry, Tim) and fics of our own to write, it sometimes takes a while for us to get to a story. It may even take a couple months if you write a really long story, because it’s easier to html a short one. ;) If it’s been a month, go ahead and email us at James_Raddish3@hotmail.com. This isn’t where you send fics, it’s where you can send all questions, comments, concerns, and flames. If you flame us, though, we will ignore you.

2a. Why didn’t I get an acceptance/rejection letter?

It’s not that Em and I don’t like you. It’s that time thing, combined with the fact that we’ve (I’ve, since Em’s more diplomatic) had some really bad experience with rejection letters. Really really bad, scarring experiences. I don’t take criticism well (so send her all your criticism so that she won’t share it with me *g*). So we don’t do them anymore, just to avoid flamewars. Yeah, it’s a bad policy, but we’re human, and that’s the way it is until we find a better way. We really are sorry.

3. Can I write an RE?

No. This is one of those black and white, uh uh no way no how questions. Unfortunately, RE is our baby, and we protect that baby like rabid pitbulls. We want to be the only ones writing REs, and RE type stories. You can refer to the RE stories in your fic, or even use Mr. Raddish’s name (if it’s in good taste, and subject to our approval, since he is our baby too *g*), but Em and I are the sole authors of the REs. We will, however, take whatever ideas you can come up with. We love other peoples’ ideas, because sometimes the REs get stagnant, and the spring of inspiration runs dry. Especially when it comes to Max and Liz. So please, send us your new ideas!

3a. Can I archive the RE stories on my site?

Again, no. They are our sole property and exclusive to RU, because we say so. Bang the gavel, end of trial, the verdict has been delivered. Because we need something to make RU special. And again, they’re our babies. J

3b. Can I write a Roswell Junior High series based on Roswell Elementary? Or are you ever planning on writing a Roswell Junior High series after RE is done?

Three times for no. We've decided our official policy on this issue is that anything taking place pre-Pilot in the Roswell universe is the one piece of time where it's absolutely NOT okay to refer to anything from Roswell Elementary, unless you keep in with our version of what happens by writing a 'door' fic like Emily's These Broken Wings or Finding Home. By a 'door' fic I mean any type of pre-Roswell fic where the Roswellians have mostly forgotten what happened between them in fifth grade. They might remember bits and pieces, but most of it is lost. Another good example of this would be X-treme_Roswellian's 'Before I Knew' you series, where she refers to RE, but she still makes it like the characters did drift apart between RE and when the stories take place, which is pre-Pilot, just before Liz gets shot. The reason for this will become more clear after we've released the camping trip arc, which is the final RE arc. We can't go from having them forget everything and saying goodbye, to them suddenly going back to their normal relationships in junior high, and then back to them not knowing each other again in high school when The Pilot airs. It just doesn't make any sense in the timeline, so for the sake of making what happened in Roswell Elementary appear more 'real', we decided they'd go their separate ways after elementary school aired, because they just weren't ready for that connection that they felt quite yet. There are brief moments of awakening here and there between RE's end and the beginning of Roswell the series, but there is no continual contact between the Pod Squad and their human friends from 6th grade up until 10th grade, when Liz gets shot and everything changes forever.

4. Do you and Em live together/are you sisters?

Believe it or not, Emily and I live on opposite sides of the US. She’s in Western Massachusetts, and I’m in Southern California. We’re not related, and we didn’t even meet until this past August, when she rode the bus across country just to meet me (and Majandra *g*). You can read all about our meeting in the Official RU Interview by Rae Vertudez (the original radish sister J).

5. Who is Mr. Raddish, and is he really their fifth grade teacher?

Mr. Raddish, and his wife Sylvia, and Gracie and Maggie and Rodney and a lot of the other kids of Roswell Elementary, 5A are figments of our imagination. Mr. Raddish was born the night that Heatwave aired, when Em and I were talking over AIM, and discovered that we’d like to see what the Roswellians were like as little kids. Em came up with the name Mr. Raddish (I wanted to name him after my US history teacher, Mr. Fauver, but then we would’ve been lost without the veggie jokes), and we slowly developed his character and backstory from there. Some other 5th grade teacher is mentioned in Blood Brothers, but we just kind of...deny that teacher’s existence. Mr. Raddish exists only in our hearts, but we’re hoping for a random radish mention on Roswell someday. Not that we’re already casting for a possible RE spin-off series or anything... *innocent look*

6. What’s up with the radish thing?

No, we’re not weird and obsessed with radishes. Okay, maybe we are (to both questions *g*). After deciding we needed to give Mr. Raddish life, we needed a place to house all the REs. Then we decided to do a fic archive, and chose Mr. Raddish’s desk as the place for our best, most beloved fics. And the radish thing kind of spun off from there. On a side note, the Radish Brethren are the original members of the Rae Vertudez list at egroups, a small group who fell in love with Rae’s story "Who I Am, Where I’ll Be, What I’ve Become" (or something to that effect *g*). They were our testing ground for the REs, and the place that Em and I met. They’ve been there for us through thick and thin, and provided the original bulk of the stories at RU. It’s still a pleasure to host one of their stories. And we still dove them very much, for all their support. J

7. What's NV?

NV is Nonvermont, meaning the state of Vermont where same-sex couples are allowed to be on each other's insurance and can have the same benefits as married couples. Em and I are Non-Vermont, or NV, meaning we're just friends. It's...a long story...*g*

8. Who's Jeebie?

That, my friends and doveys, is something I cannot answer, under threat of death. ;)

That’s all I can think of. If you guys have any other random questions, ask away, and we’ll post the answers here. J
