The Shawn Cycle: 1997

Okay, Shawn was a purely online romance that was...interesting in itself, and not entirely harmless, but hey, I wrote a really spiffy crappy love poem out of it, so without details, here it is, from my freshman year of college. *g*

Untitled

A little girl, wide-eyed, pig-tailed,
wished upon a star one night:
for a valiant man
brave and true
A royal knight
white steed
glorious

A young woman
Bright-eyed, shorn curls
walled off her heart
waiting for Sir Gallant
his proud horse,
shining sword,
Wondrous

And into her life
Rode a rangy cowboy
Lanky black mare
Swaddled in dust from head to toe
smelling of the plains.
Beat down the wall
with a calloused fist

And with sweet songs
sung in a rough voice
three words
gentle caresses,
he tamed her heart.
